The Semi Pendant Light combines classic Danish design with practical functionality through its arch-shaped enamelled metal shade. Its glossy dark cocoa finish provides rich color depth, while the curved form creates focused downward lighting. The metal construction offers lasting quality and the semi-circular silhouette adds architectural interest.
The Semi Pendant Light was designed in 1968 by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup for a competition put on by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. It won first prize and quickly became a best-selling Danish design with worldwide recognition. Its distinctive arch-shape and enamelled metal shade creates a diffused, cone-shaped light, ideal for over a dining table or kitchen work surface.
