Frequently Asked Questions
Six to eight place settings of plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery, a set of everyday tumblers and wine glasses, two or three serving dishes, airtight storage jars and a good stack of tea towels. Build the collection over time rather than buying a 40-piece set you will never fully use. Choosing one colour palette from the start makes later additions easy to match.
Yes, and a mixed table often looks more personal than a single set. Keep one constant: a shared colour palette, a single material such as stoneware, or plain white dinner plates with patterned side plates and bowls layered on top. Mixing works best when the pieces are similar in weight and scale, so nothing looks out of place.
Most porcelain, stoneware and toughened glass is dishwasher safe. Hand-wash anything with gold or platinum rims, hand-painted glazes, lead crystal, wooden handles and cast iron. If you want everything to go in the machine, check each product's care notes before buying, as two similar-looking pieces can have very different instructions.
Add natural textures and softer light: linen tea towels and a runner, wooden boards and bowls, a rug where you stand at the sink, and a table lamp or under-cabinet lighting in place of a single bright ceiling light. Displaying a few handmade ceramics and a vase of stems brings personality without adding clutter.
