The 16cm empire shade features hand-marbled paper, a centuries-old craft where paints and oils are dropped onto thickened water, then raked and stretched into intricate patterns before being transferred onto paper. Each sheet is unique, as no two marbling impressions can ever replicate the same result, giving this shade its distinctly individual character. The bold green and blue roya pattern is achieved across two seams, a construction detail inherent to the smaller surface area of the marbling process. The compact empire silhouette provides a structured, gently tapered form suited to smaller lamp bases.
