The Sintra mugs combine reactive glazed stoneware construction with a handc... rafted finish in shades ranging from pink to brown, with colour and pattern varying naturally between pieces. Made in Portugal by a family ceramics business operating since 1886, the stoneware uses regionally harvested clay worked by hand, while the glazes are developed from raw, natural materials. The reactive glaze process applies metal oxides after an initial firing, followed by a contrasting enamel glaze to produce the characteristic metal flecking effect. Each mug holds 25cl, is dishwasher and microwave compatible, and measures 11.5cm top diameter, 8.5cm base diameter x H9.5cm.
