The 'Moving in a Circle' portrait by Barbara Kuebel forms part of a series exploring the different sides of life, executed in oil, oil paint, wax, and oil stick on canvas. Austrian artist Barbara Kuebel, based in Alabama, has exhibited her abstract figurative work widely across Europe and the US, drawing on themes of awkward social interactions. The combination of oil and wax media creates a layered surface texture that reinforces the expressive, figurative quality of the composition.
