The chair combines baroque styling with hand-painted multi-coloured dots applied using the pointillism technique. Its rotational-moulded polyethylene construction provides weatherproof durability that accommodates both indoor and outdoor use. The romantic design features classical proportions, while the industrial manufacturing process ensures consistent quality and weather resistance.
Based on Alessandro Mendini's 'Poltrona di Proust' chair, designed in 1978, Magis' 2011 'Proust' chair is the same designer's contemporary update on the original. The first incarnation of the seat, which is characterised by continuous hand painted multi-coloured dots applied using the pointillism technique, is relived in this industrial rotational-moulded piece, where weatherproof polyethylene is shaped into a romantic, baroque chair that is suited to both indoor and outdoor use.
