The chair provides baroque elegance with continuous hand-painted multi-coloured dots created using the pointillism technique. Its weatherproof polyethylene construction uses rotational-moulding to achieve the ornate form while maintaining durability. The romantic silhouette offers classical charm, and the weather-resistant material supports reliable use in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Based on Alessandro Mendini's 'Poltrona di Proust' chair, designed in 1978, Magis' 2011 'Proust' chair is the same designer's contemporary update on the original. The first incarnation of the seat, which is characterised by continuous hand painted multi-coloured dots applied using the pointillism technique, is relived in this industrial rotational-moulded piece, where weatherproof polyethylene is shaped into a romantic, baroque chair that is suited to both indoor and outdoor use.
