The result of 15 years' labour from designer Franco Albini, 'Luisa' is an extraordinary chair in which the concept of 'substance in form' is aptly expressed. Albini's mission to dedicate himself to creating an archetype in which the core elements of the structure respond to various possible uses in the home led to the creation of a chair where the seat and the back are two geometric planes suspended on a simple wood structure. The result is a timeless piece that is a testament to skill, technique and high quality materials, and one which was awarded the prestigious Compasso D’Oro prize by the Italian Industrial Design Association.
