The Savio empire lampshade is crafted from hand-made marbled paper, a centuries-old technique in which paints and oils are dropped onto thickened water, then raked and stretched before the paper is laid over the surface to absorb the pattern. Each sheet produced is entirely unique, meaning no two shades share the same marbling. The bold green tones carry a fluid, organic quality inherent to the process, and the shade features two seams due to the surface area required for this construction method.
