The 14cm tall tapered gathered lampshade is constructed from Taj silk, a lightweight, finely woven fabric with a smooth, matt finish and even monochromatic dye. Its delicate translucency allows light to pass through with a clean, luminous quality, free from the slubs and tonal variation of dupion silk. The gathered construction adds subtle volume to the tapered form, making it well suited to smaller table lamp bases.
Our Taj silk a very delicate lightweight silk, without so many slubs and imperfections. It's colour is matt and monochrome since it is dyed, as opposed to our Dupion silk that has contrasting colours woven into it, and creates a very different effect. It has a lovely translucency and creates beautiful lampshades.
