The Gusto Coupe glass set combines crisp, mouthblown cups with raw, uneven bases of molten glass, capturing the dual nature of melting ice in a design by Alain Gilles. Dark grey pigmented glass within each base adds depth and dimension, while the shifting silhouette viewed from different angles gives the pieces an organic, vital quality. Crafted entirely by hand, no two pieces are identical, resulting in subtle variations across each glass. This set of two small glasses can be mixed and matched with other pigmented and clear designs from the Gusto series.
Based on an interplay between a crisp, mouthblown cup and a raw, uneven base of molten glass, the 'Gusto' collection by Alain Gilles for XLBoom captures the dual nature of melting ice. Dark gray pigmented glass within the base functions as a striking focal element that adds dimension and enhances the juxtaposition of the design. The silhouette of the glass shifts when viewed from different angles, giving it a vital, organic quality. Defined by this subtle yet captivating tension, and made entirely by hand, no two pieces are identical. This set of two small 'Gusto Coupe' glasses can be mixed and matched with other pigmented and clear designs from the same series for the full aesthetic.
