The Sophia salad bowl features hand-painted blue ink illustrations inspired by oriental calligraphy, applied by designer Marie Michielssen herself. Crafted from stoneware with an irregular, intuitive shape, each piece carries unique imperfections resulting from intensive handwork that distinguish it from mass-produced tableware. The hand-painted brushwork combines spontaneous, energetic linework with a functional form, while the stoneware construction supports use in the dishwasher, microwave, and oven up to 75°C.
