Ultima Thule Platter - Glass

The Ultima Thule platter offers a heavy, elegant presence with its wooden mould-shaped glass, which gives the surface a distinctive texture that shifts as the mould is fired through the heated glass. Its water-and-ice inspired decoration, drawn from the Latin name for Greenland, is the result of methods refined over the years by designer Tapio Wirkkala. The platter suits serving food directly to the table, particularly cold meats or smoked fish, while remaining dishwasher safe.

Ultima Thule platter from the original collection of the same name from the Iittala range. The glass from which the dishes are made is shaped in wooden moulds, thanks to which the elements of the collection differ in texture - the texture changes as the moulds are fired through the heated glass. The platter is ideal for serving food straight to the table, especially cold meat or smoked fish.Ultima Thule crockery is dishwasher safe.
