826 Fruit Basket - 24 cm, Polished Steel

The 826 wire basket is built from polished steel wire, offering a refined metallic finish and an open weave that keeps fruit ventilated and visible. First produced in 1948, the design has stayed in the range across decades, maintaining its recognisable silhouette. This 24 cm version provides added capacity for larger pieces of fruit, while its lightweight wire frame keeps it easy to reposition on a countertop or table.

The wire basket 826 is one of Alessi's oldest designs. The vessel made of polished steel wire, despite the high production costs, has been in the Alessi range since 1948. The basket in various shapes and sizes has survived changing fashions to become a timeless, recognisable product. The new, smaller version of the "826" basket with a diameter of 15 cm was designed on request by Swiss Airlines and has been included in the Alessi range.
