826 Fruit Basket - 20 cm, Polished Steel

The 826 wire basket features a polished steel wire construction that combines a sleek finish with sturdy, open-weave support for fruit display. Introduced in 1948, this long-standing design has remained in production through changing trends, reflecting its enduring form. This 20 cm version offers a compact footprint suited to smaller counters and tabletops, while the open structure allows air to circulate around stored produce.

The wire basket 826 is one of Alessi's oldest designs. The vessel made of polished steel wire, despite the high production costs, has been in the Alessi range since 1948. The basket in various shapes and sizes has survived changing fashions to become a timeless, recognisable product. The new, smaller version of the "826" basket with a diameter of 15 cm was designed on request by Swiss Airlines and has been included in the Alessi range.
