The Tria Chair combines sculptural form with refined craftsmanship, featuring a ribbon-like optical effect on the backrest created through the distinctive grain and shaping of ash wood. Its rounded corners and lightweight construction reflect the design language developed by Lorenz+Kaz for Colé Italia, balancing visual complexity with structural simplicity. The red-stained ash wood finish adds depth to the backrest's interlocking pattern, giving the piece a graphic quality that remains consistent from multiple viewing angles.
Teaming up with Italian brand Colé Italia once again, German design duo Lorenz+Kaz has created the 'Tria' collection — a series of sculptural furniture pieces defined by unusual compositions, rounded corners and a distinct lightness. This red stained 'Tria' chair in ash wood perfectly captures the mood of the series with a ribbon-like optical effect on the backrest that calls to mind the work of Dutch graphic artist and engraver Maurits Escher.
