The Moca chair combines understated form with considered construction, featuring two veneered plywood shells mounted on a base of twin steel tubing arcs. Designed by Jasper Morrison, the shell construction provides a comfortable, familiar seating profile while the steel arc base offers structural stability with a minimal footprint. The light oak veneer finish brings a warm, natural tone to the plywood surfaces, complementing the tubular steel frame.
Understated, useful and responsible, Jasper Morrison's 'Moca' chair articulates the British designer's approach to design. Produced by Vitra, the chair combines the brand's manufacturing expertise with Morrison's experience for a furniture piece that is unassuming yet familiar, while the application of durable, high-quality materials ensures an unusually long product lifespan. Comprising a base formed from two arcs of steel tubing, upon which two veneered plywood shells are mounted, 'Moca' may not be revolutionary but it presents a classic and comfortable design that will withstand the test of time.
