The Grouper Convex Mirror combines a fisheye convex glass construction with a carefully achieved antiqued finish, producing a subtly distorted, wide-angle reflection with a distinctive aged quality. The convex surface gathers light and reflects a broader field of view than a flat mirror of the same size, while the antiquing process on the glass adds tonal depth and character. The bronze frame provides a warm, complementary surround to the aged mirror glass.
The Grouper is not necessarily the most handsome of fish but my, what beautiful eyes. Fisheye mirrors, especially large ones, are a long way from straightforward to make, and achieving the right degree of antiquing on the glass is very challenging. We are thrilled with the result. They look quite stupendous on the wall and the reflection through the aged glass is...well...a little bit fishy...
