The Halni dinner plates combine hand-applied reactive glazing with high-quality stoneware clay sourced from the Portuguese region where they are crafted. Each plate carries a mottled print on both sides, produced by layering metal oxides and contrasting enamels through a two-stage firing process, with colour and surface texture influenced by firing temperature, enamel thickness, and application technique. Produced by a family-run ceramics business operating since 1886, no two plates are identical due to the entirely handcrafted nature of the finish. The plates are dishwasher and microwave safe, measuring 26.5cm in diameter and 3cm in height.
