The Gogain dessert plates combine a matte stoneware exterior with a contrasting crackled enamel interior, produced using a hand-applied glazing technique originating in 16th-century Asia. Each plate is immersed in water directly from the oven, causing thermal shock that generates the characteristic surface cracks and metallic colour effect. The wavy form, crack pattern and final colour of each piece vary according to oven temperature, firing duration and enamel thickness, ensuring every plate is one of a kind.
