The Gogain dessert plates feature a two-tone stoneware construction with a matte exterior finish contrasting against a crackled enamel interior. Each piece is handcrafted using a technique originating in 16th-century Asia, where ceramic pieces are immersed in water directly from the oven, creating thermal-shock cracks and a distinctive metallic colour effect. Because the crackle pattern depends on oven temperature, firing duration, enamel thickness, and application method, every plate is unique in its finish and form.
