The Banana Madeira Tart Tray features hand-crafted ceramic construction with intricate detailing drawn from the tropical flora of Madeira island. Designed in collaboration with Nini Andrade Silva, it recreates the dark wrinkled bark, large verdant leaves, and delicate stems of banana trees across its surface. The sculptural relief work gives the tray a naturalistic texture while maintaining its functional form as a serving piece. Part of a collection that received both a German Design Award and the Iconic Awards Innovative Interior category in 2020.
World renowned interior designer Nini Andrade Silva has teamed up with Bordello Pinheiro to develop the 'Banana Madeira' collection, an ode to the designer's birthplace. Here, the island's iconic banana trees are celebrated through a series of ceramic tableware pieces in which their dark wrinkled barks, large verdant leaves and delicate stems are painstakingly recreated for a tropical dining table layout. This tart tray forms one part of the award winning collection, which in 2020 won both a German Design Award and the Iconic Awards Innovative Interior category.
