The Banana Madeira Salad Bowl features ceramic construction with sculpted surface detailing that recreates the bark, leaves, and stems of Madeira's banana trees. Developed in collaboration with designer Nini Andrade Silva, the bowl's relief work captures the texture and colour of tropical foliage with a high level of craft detail. Its generous bowl form provides practical capacity while the decorative exterior adds visual depth to the serving piece. The collection earned both a German Design Award and the Iconic Awards Innovative Interior category in 2020.
World renowned interior designer Nini Andrade Silva has teamed up with Bordello Pinheiro to develop the 'Banana Madeira' collection, an ode to her birthplace. Here, the island's iconic banana trees are celebrated through a series of ceramic tableware pieces in which their dark wrinkled barks, large verdant leaves and delicate stems are painstakingly recreated for a tropical dining table layout. This salad bowl forms one part of the award winning collection, which in 2020 won both a German Design Award and the Iconic Awards' Innovative Interior category.
