The large club chair combines generous proportions with handwoven Kilim upholstery, crafted from wool and cotton strands by skilled artisans. Its natural thread base supports horizontal colored weaving that creates distinctive striped patterns, while the antiqued finish adds vintage appeal. Brass studs provide elegant detailing along the frame, and the traditional weaving process ensures each chair displays unique characteristics from the artisanal craftsmanship.
Club chairs were originally created in France, named 'fauteuil confortable' - which translates to 'comfortable armchair'. This could not be more fitting for our Large George, which has been reimagined with bigger dimensions and finished with striking, handwoven upholstery that adds an instant pop of colour to a room. The upholstery is crafted by skilled artisans, who take their time expertly weaving strands of wool and cotton into a Kilim rug by hand: this process involves natural threads being placed on a loom to form the rug's base, then coloured strands are woven horizontally to form the stripe. The rug is then washed and brushed for an antiqued appearance and carefully clipped of stray threads, before it is applied to the frame of the George and finished with brass studs. Due to the artisanal techniques used, each piece will have individual characteristics that add to their charm.
