The Tempus Coffee Table combines handcrafted construction with reclaimed elm sourced from derelict homes in China, some over 100 years old. Its distinctive hourglass-shaped legs give the piece its name — Tempus, Latin for time — while the repurposed wood retains visible joins, colour variation, and natural texture. Each table is unique due to the individual characteristics of the recycled material, left unstained to preserve the wood's original finish.

Our artisans work with repurposed wood sourced from the beams, old doors, walls and floors of derelict homes in China, some of which are more than 100 years old - steeping each piece in history. This Coffee Table is handmade and the recycled materials will result in each piece having individual characteristics. In contrast to some of our other reclaimed wood pieces, the Tempus withholds a lot of its material's original character and charm in the way that the wood has been put together with visible joins, colour and texture variation. It remains unstained for a natural finish.
