The Ishi coffee table combines a cube-like silhouette with soft, irregular deformations inspired by natural stone formations shaped by erosion and weather. Each piece is hand-sculpted, making every table entirely unique in its surface texture and contour. The high glaze coffee finish enhances the tactile, rhythmic quality of the form, adding depth to the sculpted surface. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl for 101 Copenhagen, the table draws on the Japanese concept of 'ishi' — meaning rock — to bring a grounded, organic presence to any setting.
101 Copenhagen balances minimalism with natural beauty in the 'Ishi' coffee table. The Japanese word for "rock", the design is inspired by natural stone formations and seems to have been sculpted by erosion and weather. The cube-like shape features soft deformations for a rhythmic, tactile effect. With its quietly powerful presence, 'Ishi' — in high glaze coffee — adds a sense of grounded tranquility to interiors. Created by designers Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl, each hand-sculpted table is completely unique.
