The Piave tapered lamp shade features hand-marbled paper crafted through a centuries-old technique, where paints and oils are dropped onto thickened water, then raked and stretched into intricate feathered fan patterns. Each sheet is individually laid onto the surface and lifted to capture a unique imprint, meaning no two shades are ever identical. The grey, white, and black tones create a striking feathered fan effect across the paper surface. Due to the smaller surface area required for this marbling technique, the shade is constructed with two seams.
