The Hercule table lamp features a body constructed from individually hand-cut and hand-shaped pieces of buffalo bone, assembled in a three-dimensional mosaic technique. Each fragment is placed by hand, resulting in a surface with subtle variation in tone and texture across the black and white finish. The labour-intensive construction gives each lamp a distinct character and a tactile, sculptural quality.
Hercule - strong, powerful, mighty and dashingly handsome. This remarkable table lamp (insomuch as it always prompts remarks) is made from buffalo bone. Each individual piece is cut and shaped by hand and stuck into place like a mosaic in three dimensions. It is crazily skilful work, and the result is spectacular.
