The GP & J Baker Jubilee Ferns empire lamp shade features an archival botanical print drawn from Flora Londinensis, a late 18th-century compendium of flora within ten miles of London. The fern motif is rendered at a reduced scale from the original design, preserving the fine detail of the botanical drawings across the linen fabric. A two-coloured taping trims the edges, picking out complementary tones directly from the pattern for a considered finish.
We call them "small" ferns because the original Ferns designs was on a considerably larger scale. This is one of the classic archival prints from G P & J Baker - it's about a century old and was based on botanical drawings in Flora Londinensis, a compendium of flora within a ten mile radius of London in the late 18th century. Please note the two coloured taping, picking out colours from the pattern.
