The Ellen Merchant Palmette empire shade combines a classical palm leaf motif with a retro-inflected, undulating repeat, printed onto citrine linen using a hand-carved linocut technique. The empire shape tapers gently from top to bottom, directing light downward while the linen fabric softens and warms the output. The hand-carved origin of the print introduces a lived-in, slightly imperfect texture that distinguishes the pattern across the fabric surface. The shade measures 30cm in diameter.
