The Lucas Floor Lamp combines a burl wood base with three antique-brass curving arms, each extending upward at staggered heights to distribute light across a wide area. Hand-pleated off-white linen lampshades sit atop each arm, while the swirling wild grain of the burl wood — formed from cross-sectioned tree knots — requires skilled craftsmanship to cut cleanly. Three brass ball feet anchor the base, echoing the antique-brass finish of the arms for a cohesive metallic detail throughout.
Inspired by an antique found by our Design Director, the playful form of the Lucas Floor Lamp is also incredibly elegant. Narrow hand-pleated off-white linen lampshades sit on a trio of precisely formed antique-brass curving arms that extend upwards to hold the bulbs. These are arranged at staggered heights to encourage the light to climb around the room. The burl wood base sits upon three brass ball feet which complement the piece. Burl wood has a beautiful and unusual grain - this is a cross section of the knots that form on trees, and so features a swirling pattern referred to as a 'wild grain', that requires highly skilled craftsmen in order to cut it without splitting the wood.
