The Amp lamp by Danish designer Simon Legald is a striking piece, merging high-quality glass and marble. It exudes a delicate elegance and grounded weight, inspired by the glow of a 1960s radio tube amplifier. Its simple oval shape and warm glow evoke nostalgia, while the lamp's proportions harmoniously balance transparency with opacity, hard with soft.

Original Product Description:

The Danish designer Simon Legald has designed a sophisticated range of lamps called Amp. The lamps are characterized by their high-quality materials of glass and marble. These add a visual fragility and sensuous heaviness to the design. The idea for the lamp''s shape came when the designer was restoring an old 1960''s radio at home. While searching for spare parts for the radio, he was captivated by the glow that emits from the tube amplifier. The simple oval shape and the glow of the lamp is an obvious reference to this, just as the name Amp refers to the English term; tube amplifier. The proportions for each lamp have been carefully designed to ensure just the right balance between hard & soft and transparent & opaque.
