The 45cm drum lampshade features dupion silk, a naturally woven fabric with a distinctive iridescent quality that shifts between a rich orangey ochre and a softer yellow depending on the angle of light. Dupion silk is woven from two threads — the warp and the weft — which creates its characteristic colour depth and subtle sheen. The fabric also contains natural slubs, where silk yarn twists together more thickly at intervals, a hallmark of the fibre's organic origin rather than a flaw. The saffron colourway brings warmth and vibrancy, with the silk's lustre adding dimension that flat photography cannot fully capture.
