The 25cm drum lamp shade is crafted from dupion silk, a naturally iridescent fabric woven from two distinct threads that gives the Saffron colourway a shifting quality between rich orangey ochre and a softer yellow depending on the angle of light. Its construction includes natural slubs — points where silk yarn threads twist together at slightly thicker intervals — which are an inherent characteristic of the organic fibre. The iridescent depth of dupion silk is best appreciated in person, as still photography cannot fully capture its tonal range.
