The 16cm Koyari empire lamp shade features an Ikat-patterned silk in a pink and ecru colourway. The Ikat weaving technique produces its characteristic blurred, feathered pattern edges, a result of resist-dyeing the threads prior to weaving rather than printing the fabric after. The silk construction allows light to pass through the pattern, animating the colour contrast between the pink and ecru tones when illuminated.
