The short drum lamp shade is made from antique rose dupion silk, a fabric woven from two separate threads — warp and weft — that produces a natural iridescence shifting between a mild and deeper pink depending on the angle of light. Occasional slubs, where silk yarn threads twist together more thickly, are an inherent characteristic of the natural fibre. The compact 14cm drum form suits smaller or accent lamp bases.
