The rubber seal is designed for Weck jars, sealing preserves, sauces and jams with a gasket that matches the jar's diameter. Made from high-quality plastic free of toxic rubber substances, it sits on the lid and works with stainless steel clips (sold separately) to close the filled jar. The seal supports pasteurisation, though excessive or rapid heating may dislodge it or allow contents to get between the seal and lid. Once cooled, remove the clips and store the jar in the pantry.
