The Blue Ming Cake Stand features an elaborate sculptural design rooted in the fusion of Dutch Delft pottery tradition and Chinese Ming porcelain heritage. Its structure is defined by symmetrical forms accented with tulip and leaf motifs, rendered in signature blue graphics on white porcelain. The bold graphic detailing and sculptural construction make it a striking standalone display piece or part of a coordinated table ensemble.
One component of prize winning Dutch designer Marcel Wanders' 'Blue Ming' collection for Vista Alegre, this elaborate cake stand embodies the series' signature marriage of symmetrical parts with sculptural elements. Simultaneously, the combination of the Dutch century-old tradition of Delft pottery — known as Delft Blue — with Chinese Ming porcelain is an emblematic merger of two countries and their cultural heritages. Defined by sculptural forms, and tulip and leaf motifs alongside elegant blue graphics, the cake stand makes a bold statement whether displayed as part of an ensemble or as an individual piece.
