Hand-washing with a non-abrasive sponge preserves the gold decoration's luster and extends the piece's lifespan.
Inspired by the statue representing Sophia, ‘Wisdom’, in the grand Celsius Library in Ephesus, Sophia is a unique serving plate, finely crafted from Limoges porcelain and beautifully accentuated in hand-gilded 24-karat gold. Whether used as a cheese plater or to serve fruit or desserts, Sophia is a reimagined antique emblem offering a contemporary touch to any table setting. All of our products are handcrafted using fine Limoges porcelain clay, with both inner and outer surfaces glazed and fired at high temperatures, making them safe for food and drink. For pieces decorated with 24-carat gold glaze, it is possible to wash them in the dishwasher occasionally; however, it is recommended to hand-wash them with a non-abrasive soft sponge in order to preserve the beauty and luster of the decoration. The pieces are not microwave-safe due to the presence of precious materials.
