The Kamakura teapot offers Japanese-inspired design with its reinforced base and distinctive silhouette. Its borosilicate glass construction provides heat resistance while revealing the rich colors and movement of tea inside. The expanded oval shape features a shortened spout and side-mounted handle, with the delicate lid nestled inside a glass bowl for secure brewing.
An homage to Japanese folk crafts, designer Denis Guidone reimagines a cast iron teapot entirely in borosilicate glass. Elevating the concept of the completely clear teapot, this homage to the Japanese tea ceremony, for Ichendorf Milano, blends design cues from East and West. 'Kamakura'’s silhouette, with its study, reinforced base, draws playfully on the weight and form of a stove-top teakettle. The characterful design expands the traditional oval shape of the pot, shortens the spout and places the handle on the side. The delicate lid is nestled inside a glass bowl. Revealing the rich colors of its contents, the movement of the tea inside, the teapot also seems to float as it's poured, airy and somehow momentarily invisible.
