The Amazónia Cake Stand combines earthenware construction with an accompanying macaw figure, drawing on the fauna, traditions, and colours of the Amazon rainforest. Produced through a collaboration between historic Portuguese ceramic house Bordallo Pinheiro and Brazilian NGO Ecoarts Amazônia, the piece features a multicolour finish that captures the visual richness of the region's ecosystems. A portion of proceeds from the collection supports reforestation efforts in Mato Grosso, where Ecoarts Amazônia operates.
Historic Portuguese ceramic brand Bordallo Pinheiro has joined forces with Brazilian NGO Ecoarts Amazônia to create the 'Amazónia' collection — a series of earthenware pieces that honor the Amazon rainforest. Taking inspiration from the region's ecosystems, the award winning collection presents pieces like this cake stand with an accompanying macaw, a reflection of the Amazon's rich local fauna, traditions, colors, sounds and smells. A portion of the proceeds of the collection will be dedicated to the reforestation of the cities, rural areas and indigenous villages of Mato Grosso, where Ecoarts Amazônia is based.
