The Pulcina espresso maker combines the expertise of illycaffe with a distinctive design, featuring a beak-shaped spout that helps reduce the Stromboli-volcano effect often found in coffee machines. Its cylindrical, curved handle and matching red lid handle provide a comfortable grip, while the spherical water container and stepped outer walls add visual interest. Available in three capacities for one, three or six cups, it lets you choose the size that suits your needs.
The Pulcina espresso café is the result of a collaboration between the Alessi brand and 'illycaffe'. This collaboration aimed to optimise the shape of the café, in order to improve the organoleptic characteristics of the coffee brewed in the 'mocha' vessel. The experts at Illy's R&D Laboratory determined what changes needed to be made to reduce the so-called 'Stromboli-volcano' effect, well known to users of almost all coffee machines on the market today. The result is the Pulcina coffee machine and a cup of perfect espresso - a perfect cup of coffee as if from an Italian café 'round the corner'. Pulcina is characterised by a beak reminiscent of a bird's beak (pulcino means 'chicken' in Italian), a cylindrical, curved handle and a lid handle that corresponds to it in both colour and shape. The spherical shape of the water container and the intriguing stepped structure of the outer walls are interesting visual design elements. The three available capacities of the vessel - for 1, 3 and 6 cups- will allow the accessory to be matched to the individual needs of the users.
