Pianissimo Bread Basket - Steel

The Pianissimo bread basket is shaped by geometric principles drawn from the designer's interest in mathematics, resulting in a three-dimensional form built from intricately cut and bent steel pieces. Its glossy steel construction gives the complex geometry a striking finish, while the open, sculptural design keeps the contents clearly visible and easy to reach.

The Pianissimo bread basket reflects young Australian Abi Alice's fascination with geometry and mathematics. Geometry is used by the designer to create three-dimensional mathematical 'sculptures'. The bread basket on display is created by intricately cutting and bending pieces of steel. The glossy steel in the complex form draws attention to itself and perfectly displays the contents.
