Once ubiquitous throughout the Mediterranean, coral was used as currency in exchange for spices and perfumes. For the 'Mediterraneo' basket — created in 2004 — designer Emma Silvestris has recreated the imagery of the sea world with forms that reflect the shapes of organisms which live in the ocean. Cut from mirror polished 18/10 stainless steel, the sleek basket makes a beautiful centrepiece.
