Dining Chair with Zip Fastening - Ivory, Leather

Its steel frame supports the saddle leather skin, while the zip fastening provides secure attachment. One of the world’s first free-standing cowhide design chairs, Mario Bellini's 'Cab 412' is informed by the relationship between the skeleton and the skin. As such, the signature piece from Cassina’s 'I Contemporanei' collection features upholstery comprised of 16 pieces of brown saddle leather, individually die-cut and then subjected to a further 14 procedures, all by hand. Once attached to the chair’s steel frame, the skin is secured with a zip fastening, akin to a bespoke tailored garment.
