The Marvel Comics Library Spider-Man Vol.1, 1962–1964 brings together the first 21 Spider-Man stories in a 698-page XXL hardcover volume, produced in close collaboration with Marvel and the Certified Guaranty Company. Steve Ditko's original artwork is presented without recolouring, preserving the imagery as it appeared when first published in the early 1960s. Three exclusive paper stocks were created specifically for this edition, complementing rare photographs, original art, and an introduction by collector David Mandel.

First pitched by Stan Lee back in 1962, Spider-Man broke the comics mould and the hero has achieved legends status in the decades that have passed since. Initially rejected for the fact that the character was at odds with the glamorous and successful archetype, Spider-Man finally got its debut on the cover of Amazing Fantasy, which by that point was already due to be cancelled.
