The Genesis XL photography book represents Sebastião Salgado's third long-term documentary project, following Workers (1993) and Migrations (2000), and features a monumental portfolio spanning nature, animals, and indigenous peoples. Shot entirely in characteristic monochrome, the collection moves between sweeping panoramas and intricate close-up textures, revealing the earth in its most pristine and unaltered state. The oversized XL format allows the full scale and detail of each composition to be appreciated, from vast wilderness landscapes to the fine grain of natural surfaces.
