The Matisse Les Papiers Découpés 40th Edition documents Henri Matisse's late-career shift to bold, hand-cut paper compositions, a medium he developed while confined to a wheelchair. The volume features rare documentary photography by Henri Cartier-Bresson and F. W. Murnau, providing visual context alongside the artworks themselves. Written contributions from surrealist author Louis Aragon and Matisse himself offer firsthand accounts of the creative process behind the cut-outs.
