The Helmut Newton & Alice Springs Us and Them combines intimate self-portraits and mutual portraits from two photographers whose life and work were deeply intertwined. First published in 1998, the collection features personal imagery shot through both lenses, alongside portraits of friends and celebrities. Its dual perspective reveals how Newton and Springs (aka June Newton) documented their shared world with distinct yet complementary vision.
Us and Them is an ode to partnership and art: Helmut Newton and Alice Springs (aka June Newton) published their intimate, personal self-portraits and portraits of each other first in 1998. Adding friends and celebrities, shot through both of their lenses, the two photographers reveal how their life and work were inexplicably linked in every way.
