The sculptural vase features sloping sides with dramatic angles in a striking silhouette. Its clear glass construction highlights the hard, smooth qualities of the material, while the angular form creates visual depth through light refraction. The gradient design provides both decorative function and artistic statement, and the solid glass base ensures stability.
This sculptural vase for Serax fuses sloping sides and dramatic angles in an arresting silhouette. Bob Verhelst maximizes the material by showing off the hard, smooth and sharp qualities of glass. Depth is given to the 'Dunk 8' vase through pigment added to the base and sides. The design, shown here in the clear glass version, was first realized in cardboard, which speaks to the unique result: an innovative study of gradient and flat surface that transforms functionality into art.
